Ave Maria Mutual Funds prides itself on the quality of its investment professionals. Averaging 25 years of investment experience, this highly educated and tenured group is dedicated to a philosophy of putting the shareholder first. Many of our portfolio managers have been at the helm of their respective funds since inception providing consistent management to our investors.

George P. Schwartz, CFA, Chairman

George is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer with responsibility for the development and implementation of investment strategy for the Firm. He is co-manager of the Ave Maria Catholic Values Fund, Ave Maria Rising Dividend Fund and the Ave Maria Growth Fund. From 1967 to 1974, he was an investment research analyst and a partner with two New York Stock Exchange member firms. From 1974 to 1980, he was Vice President, Senior Investment Officer, and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the National Bank and Trust of Ann Arbor. In that position, he had direct responsibilities for over $500 million of investment funds. In 1980, George founded Schwartz Investment Counsel, Inc.

George has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Detroit, is a CFA charterholder, and a Chartered Investment Counselor. He is a member of the CFA Society of Detroit, the Economic Club of Detroit, and the CFA Institute and serves on several corporate and philanthropic boards.

Richard L. Platte, Jr., CFA, President

Rick is responsible for analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities suited to clients’ investment objectives. He is co-manager of the Ave Maria Rising Dividend Fund, Ave Maria Growth Fund and Ave Maria Bond Fund. From 1974 to 1979, he was an investment research analyst with the National Bank of Detroit, and from 1979 to 1983, he was the Chief Trust Investment Officer for the National Bank and Trust of Ann Arbor. Prior to joining Schwartz Investment Counsel, Inc., in 1987, he spent four years as an investment counselor with Securities Counsel, Inc., where he managed portfolios for pension and profit sharing plan clients.

Rick holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Michigan. He is a CFA charterholder and a Chartered Investment Counselor. He is a past President of the CFA Society of Detroit, and a member of the CFA Institute. Rick is also an adjunct professor of Finance at Lawrence Technological University.

Gregory R. Heilman, CFA, Senior Vice President

Greg is co-manager of the Ave Maria World Equity Fund and co‐manager of the Ave Maria Catholic Values Fund. In addition, he manages portfolios for selected private clients. He is also responsible for equity research functions for the Firm. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Greg was Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Gries Financial LLC in Cleveland, Ohio for four years. From 1987 to 1999, he was a Portfolio Manager and Analyst with BP America. Prior experience included portfolio management responsibilities with Western Reserve Capital Management and two bank trust departments.

Greg has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toledo. He is a CFA charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute and a past President of the Louisville Analysts Society.

Joseph W. Skornicka, CFA, Senior Vice President

Joe is co-manager of the Ave Maria World Equity Fund and an analyst responsible for equity research functions with a focus on large‐cap stocks and global equities. Prior to joining the firm June 1, 2012, Joe was a portfolio manager at Munder Capital Management in Birmingham, Michigan where he also provided idea generation and research support in the financial services sector. Joe was a vice president and portfolio manager at INVESCO in Denver, Colorado from 2001 to 2004. He originally joined Munder Capital in 1995 as a result of the firm’s merger with Comerica Bank. Prior thereto, he was an equity analyst at Woodbridge Capital Management, an investment subsidiary of Comerica.

Joe has a Bachelor of Arts degree in financial administration from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Detroit.

Timothy S. Schwartz, CFA, Executive Vice President

Tim is portfolio manager of the Ave Maria Opportunity Fund and co‐portfolio manager of the Schwartz Value Fund. He also serves as Chief Financial Officer for the Firm. Tim joined Schwartz Investment Counsel, Inc. in 1998, and prior thereto was an analyst in the commercial credit departments of Fifth Third Bank and Comerica Bank.

Tim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Fairfield University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Walsh College. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Naples and the CFA Institute.

Brandon S. Scheitler, Portfolio Manager and Head Trader

Brandon is co-portfolio manager of the Ave Maria Bond Fund. He is also is responsible for the Firm’s trading and various operational and administrative functions. Prior to joining the Firm in 2007, Brandon worked for Waddell & Reed and Merrill Lynch.

Brandon has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and an MBA from Walsh College. He also holds the FINRA Series 65 license.
