The Angelus is one of the Church’s oldest daily devotions, prayed morning, noon, and evening by Catholics around the world. The devotion commemorates the Annunciation and grew organically over the centuries, rooted in medieval monastic practice. Its development unfolded gradually through monastic life and pivotal moments in Christian history, including the Crusades, the fall of Constantinople, and the victory at Lepanto.
